Amankila Hotel

Amankila – meaning “peaceful hill” – overlooks the Lombok Strait from a cliff-edge setting. The resort is located near the village of Manggis in east Bali formerly known as the royal regency.

Amankila’s layout draws inspiration from the nearby Karangasem palaces – including the nested motif of the Maskerdam Building – with features including a serene, three-tiered pool tumbling down the hillside like a cascading rice field Elevated on stilts to maximise sea views and nestled on a verdant hillside against the dramatic backdrop of Mt Agung, Amankila’s Suites overlook the waters of the Lombok Strait and a private beach.

Set atop stilts amod the treetops, the 31 free-standing Suites have been fashioned as Balinese beach houses with private outdoor terraces.Raised on stilts and thatched with alang-alang, enjoy accommodation with ocean or garden views, and consummate privacy.

Decorated with inlaid pearl and coconut-shell furniture, all suites feature canopied king size beds, a living area, large bathroom with a soaking tub, and an outdoor terraces.
