Most millennials living in modern days would prefer minimalist wedding concept. It`s different this time with our lovely clients, Twinda and Eda. From pre-wedding photoshoot to their big day, they decided to stick with their parents` tradition; Javanese. Eda`s background as a radio announcer and Twinda`s as a TV Host give them the platform to be an example. They show young people how to keep the family tradition alive with pride.

When asked about the reason they chose traditional garment for the wedding, they explained it was because both sides of their families are from the land of Java, so why not bring out the Javanese side from both families. Twinda’s dad is from Solo and Eda’s grandparent is also from Solo. So, they finally decided to choose Solo authentic tradition as the main theme. The venue is decorated with a mixture of modern and traditional touch, for example the main entrance with the Javanese trademark pattern, Batik.

Not only using batik as a display, there was also an area for guests to try to make real-time batik with guidance from a batik artist. Combining both modern and traditional music, not only there was a gamelan at the entrance area, a collaboration of modern music and gamelan is available for guests’ entertainment. For the pre-wedding pictures, they also wanted to keep the family tradition alive. Twinda and Eda recreated the original concept because then, they would be the third generation doing so. Wedding pictures of Eda’s grandparents and parents are displayed in a photo gallery at Eda’s house. Being the the third in-line, both Twinda and Eda agreed to preserve their big day in their most loved culture, Javanese.

As told by Twinda, playing boardgame is one of their favorite activities to do as newlyweds. They are trying to be more of an analog couple by doing less digital things in this digital era. Less smartphone and laptop, so they could connect more with each other. Other than that, they also love to listen to music together, most of the time, music that’s being played by Eda to accompany their times together. This Love Story sets an example of a modern Love Story that honors the beauty of tradition. In a world full of trends, you can choose your Love Story to be a classic one.
